Smells of the Seasons

(Spring)
smells of fresh Spring air
cucumbers and clean water
-memories of Earth…


(Summer)
wet woodland trail
smells of heated soil and moss
-look! the mushrooms there!


(Autumn)
Winter is coming!
watermelon smell in air
-hurry! let’s rush home!


(Winter)
now the snow smells burnt
wood and oil and gas exhaust
-snowflakes change their shape!

  2. Thanks David! This is my fourth effort at Haiku (International)…a process I truly enjoy. I had Google do a translation of some of them for my Japanese descent co-worker and she said it came out a bit jumbled from the language jump.
